What do we do on Valentine’s Day? Well, we watch Area 88 and record a podcast. Sad, we know. But so what? Area 88 is awesome. A talented pilot named Shin Kazama was tricked into flying and destroying military jets as a mercenary for the nation of Aslan. Now, he must earn enough cash to buy his way out of Area 88 or desert his fellow comrades during a hellish war.

Area 88 is awesome and one of those classics I really like to rewatch. Shin...part of me feels sorry for him, another part just wants him to get a grip, especially at the end.
Btw, the original this is based on was a manga, which apparently has a different ending.
There's also a modern TV series which updates the designs and introduces CG.
