Ging’s Short Serious Business Review #1: Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann

Yeah, I am going to try to write a review every week for you guys, this week I decided to do Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

Ging’s Short Serious Business Review #1

TENGEN TOPPA GURREN LAGANN

*Note: I know it sounds like I have nothing but good things to say about this anime but that is purely because of it’s untouchable amazing-ness. The descriptions for each rated section are short mainly because I don’t want to spoil anything and it’s been a while since I have seen the WHOLE series. (I am currently re-watching Gurren Lagann via the dubs on Sci-Fi channel though)

First Impressions: The plot is odd, but for a first three episodes outlook is solid, great potential.

Character:
The character development in Gurren Lagann was astounding; all the important characters had both their pasts and futures explored in one way or another. The personalities of all of the characters were for the most part extremely unique in their own way. Speaking of Personalities all of the characters, all of the personalities connected with other ones in a purely brilliant way. 10/10

Plot:
Quite possibly the most unique plot for an anime since the ‘80s. So many twists and turns with limited awkward pacing, this anime executes the plot in a way that I don’t think they could have done it better. That in it’s self is friggin’ spectacular. It always keeps you on your toes. 10/10

Animation: Excellent, with the exception of episode 4 where the animation was flopped, not much else to say on that. 8.8/10

Sound:
Well made despite my dislike for it, still worthy of praise though. 9/10

Enjoyment: I watched it all back to back and loved almost every minute of it 10/10

Overall:
Almost a flawless anime despite the fuck up with episode 4’s animation and a few other small things. 10/10

**don’t ask how the fuck I come up with the overall score.
