Podcast: Episode #17 – MD Geist

17

Originally recorded on December 12, 2008. MD Geist might be considered one of the worst anime ever, but we decided to watch it anyways. On the planet Jerra there is an ongoing war between the Army and the Nexrum Army. Geist, an MDS (MOST DANGEROUS SOLDIERRRRRR!!!), awakens from his cryogenic state when he and the satellite he was in crashes onto the planet. Now it is up to him to save humanity, or something like that. This podcast contains spoilers. In fact we explain the entire OVA, so no one has to watch it.

What’s New this Week:
Ryan: Manga downloads on Japanese Wiiware
Ging: Gonzo announces upcoming mahjong anime
Nam: 4 Singaporeans sued by 5 anime studios for downloading

M.D. Geist still manages to be better than most of the shit Japan produces nowadays. Probably because it was a genuinely good and entertaining OVA.

Why would it be one of the worst anime's ever? It's awesome, inspired a lot of other work, and was a metaphor for the indiscriminate use of volatile weapons.
There is so much utter crap in anime these days. Just a bunch of underage sluts and their effeminate boyfriends. I fail to how this could possibly ever be worse.
